Where Can I Buy Backyard Fire Pits For Sale?
I have checked at Lowes and Home Depot and didn’t see any fire pits that I really liked that would look good in my backyard. I am looking for an outdoor fire pit such as a copper fire pit, propane fire pit, or a chiminea.

How Big Should A Fire Pit Be Built?
I am building a retaining wall which will be the back drop of a gas fire pit. I was planning the following:
Inner diameter = 55 inches (140cm) 36″ SS fire ring
Outside diameter = 80 inches (200 cm)
Height of pit walls = 20 inches (50 cm)
Walk way around fire pit = 28 to 35 inches (70 to 90cm)
The built in seats will be 18 inches (45cm) deep and the back will be 26 inches (60cm) high.
1. Will this be too big for a fire pit?
2. Will we be too far from the fire to enjoy the heat?
3. Will my propane tank provide enough pressure to keep us warm?
4. Is it OK to have the fire ring be the same size as the fire pit?

How Much Does It Cost To Build A Propane Fire Pit?
I am looking for a rough cost of how much it would cost to build a propane fire pit? The propane line will need to be approximately 12 – 15 feet long.
Also, I want the fire pit to be roughly 4 feet in diameter and at least 3-4 feet in height. I plan to make the fire pit out of stone with the top open.

How Do You Build A Fire Pit Out Of Brick?
I have about 100-150 red bricks and not much money. I am getting ready to hang a bench swing and wanted to possibly inlay some bricks under it so it doesn’t get muddy and also at the same time I want to build a fire pit. I tend to lean toward simple or rustic designs. I need help with ideas, patterns, and any hints you might have.

What Is The Best Way To Start A Fire In A Fire Pit?
I have just purchased a copper fire pit on a wrought iron stand. I am wanting to not only use it to keep warm but also to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. I know the fire logs that you can purchase are convenient but they can’t be used for cooking because of the chemical in them. I am a single mom not very experienced at starting fires. Would someone please tell me how to get a good fire started in a fire pit and keep the flame going?

Why does my woodpile smell so bad?
My boyfriend cut down an oak tree that was in his yard. He hauled it to my house where he cut, split, and stacked it for me. I’m glad to have it, I love to sit by the chiminea at night, but the wood smells like vomit. I bought a bag of mulch recently that smelled similar, ugh. So this is a two part question: A. Why does it smell bad? Could it be disease or insects? We found a large larva in one of the pieces. B. Is there anything I can do about it? Hose it down? Cover it with a tarp?
