John Lewis: Firepit Guide

There’s nothing quite like an inviting open fire indoors, and with a John Lewis firepit you can have one safely outdoors too. Making the most of long summer evenings is something we love to do, and having this simple but effective heat source in your garden allows you to stay outdoors just that little bit longer. The great thing about this particular piece of kit though, is its ability to double up as a quick and efficient barbecue – simply remove the grill when you’ve finished cooking, pile on some wood and keep warm as the sun goes down and the stars come out! www.johnlewis.com

All you need for this Pulled Pork Barbecue is 8-10lbs. of Boston Butt, also known as Pork Shoulder, and your favorite Dry Rub and Barbecue sauce. After trimming off the excess fat, and lightly coating the pork with dry rub, smoke the Butt low and slow at 225f-275f for about 12 hours on your backyard Smoker. When the internal temp. of the meat reaches around 195f, remove from the fire and wrap it in plastic wrap or foil for about 45 minutes to an hour so that it can rest -allowing the delicate flavor and juices to permeate the meat.
