    the first layer of brick just lays on the pad without mortar. it will be stable once the stone work is in place. unless of course you drive into it with a truck or other vehicle so don’t do that. we didn’t explain that curved piece of wood is the form for the archway. we are not sure what we are using for the the grill for the pit. we may go to the dump and get an old stainless steal piece from a refrigerator or a stove. anyway enjoy. part 4 coming soon.

      we thought my dad would be around at 2pm but we had rain for the last 3 days so he couldn’t do anything in the rain. its hard working with my dad. he has done this type of work all his life so to think you know anything is a false belief on your part. JEB doesn’t do well with thinking its not gonna come out right or how someone wants it to. so the tension is already in the air.

Step 3: Locate a clearing To create your own fire pit, choose an area at least ten feet away from brush or other easily flammable materials. Tip: Don’t forget to look up! Fire pits should not be under branches. Step 4: Make a circle Surround your fire pit with a circle of stones or rocks to keep your wood contained. Tip: If you have a shovel, dig a shallow pit inside your circle of rocks. Six to eight inches will do. Step 5: Gather wood Gather wood. You’ll need three different types: tinder, such as small twigs and dry leaves; kindling, which are larger sticks and twigs still under an inch in diameter; and fuel wood, large pieces of wood that will burn for a while.
