SplitPlaythru: Metroid Other M Wii (020) Boss of fire pit
The game takes place between Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion. Other M opens with a cinematic showing the final battle with Mother Brain at the conclusion of Super Metroid. After escaping the exploding Planet Zebes, Samus Aran awakens on a Galactic Federation ship. After leaving, she receives a distress signal, commonly coded as “Baby’s Cry”, from a dormant “Bottle Ship”, which is floating a short distance away from a Federation vessel. Upon stepping into the ship, Samus encounters a group of GF soldiers, led by Anthony Higgs, who fought alongside her before she left the GF military. She also meets Adam Malkovich, who used to be her commanding officer when she was in the Federation Army. Something happened that caused Samus to leave the army, causing Adam to be standoffish and guarded, calling Samus an “outsider” and ordering his team not to reveal any details of their mission to her. However, after defeating a large, purple tentacle-monster, Samus is welcomed onto the team and briefed on the details of their mission. Adam explains that the soldiers’ comm systems are useless, so the Navigation Booths in the facility will be their only means of communication when not together. Adam also orders them to search for any survivors and bring them to safety. They all split up to explore different parts of the space ship, in hopes of discovering the threat that they are up against. While the pilots were trying to tend to a troublesome suction sampler at 560 meters (1840 feet), a large burst from the Brimstone Pit (which clearly has two side-by-side eruptive vents) almost engulfs the vehicle in an ash plume. Video taken by ROPOS ROV at the edge of Brimstone Pit near the summit of the Mariana Arc NW Rota-1 volcano, showing an ash and sulfur-laden volcanic eruption from the crater. The crater is at a depth of 555 m (1820 ft). The yellow color of the billowing clouds is due to droplets of molten sulfur in the plume bursts at a temperature of over 100 ºC.
